ANN ARBOR, MI (WTVB) - Michigan senior defensive back Courtney Avery will be out of action at least two weeks following surgery on his right knee on Saturday. Avery was among the four players voted captain by his teammates last weekend. Coach Brady Hoke, at his weekly news conference Monday, revealed the Wolverine’s depth chart and a surprise was the name of redshirt freshman Drake Johnson, who earned the number two running back spot behind fifth year senior Fitz Toussaint. Michigan opens up at home Saturday against Central Michigan while Michigan State kicks off its schedule Friday night in East Lansing against Western Michigan. M-S-U has won eight straight in the series with the Broncos.
