LANSING (WTVB) - So we have survived Black Friday and let our fingers do the walking on Cyber Monday. Charitable organizations are trying to kick-start something new that they are calling “Giving Tuesday”, that they say is much more in the true Christmas spirit than the other two. Today is actually the second annual “Giving Tuesday”, a national day of philanthropy and community service.Scott Trudell with the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation says it’s been largely driven by social media creating something that they call “Virtual Volunteerism”. A list of participating charties is available online at givingtuesday.org or by using #GivingTuesday.
