LANSING (WTVB) - A Michigan state lawmaker wants to deregulate Road Kill. Currently if you run some poor beastie over and want to take it home and cook it, or stuff it and mount it or just give the poor creature a proper burial, you need to get it tagged by a DNR official or local police agency first. Two state senators have proposed a bill that would allow the motorist to take it home right away, as long as certain procedures are followed and a record is kept for the DNR. It’s still just a proposal and could become legislative road kill too if people object, or consider how it might play in the national media.
