EAST LANSING, MI (WTVB) - Michigan State has fallen from the top of the polls to fifth place in this week’s rankings by the Associated Press and in the USA Today Coaches Poll. The 7-and-1 Spartans suffered their first loss of the season last Wednesday at home to North Carolina. MSU is in the middle of a ten day break with their schedule resuming Saturday afternoon with a game at Oakland University.
Meanwhile, 6-and-3 Michigan has slipped out of the AP top 25 and is ranked 25th in this week’s Coaches Poll. The Wolverines next game is Saturday at noon at Crisler Center against the nation’s new number ranked team, the Arizona Wildcats.
The Big 10 has three teams in the top five, with Ohio State number three this week and Wisconsin number four.
