DETROIT, MI (WTVB) - Detroit will try to snap out of its six game skid tonight when they play the Calgary Flames at Joe Louis Arena. The injury-riddled Red Wings have scored only 7 goals during their losing streak. The Wings practiced outdoors at Comerica Park yesterday as they prepare for the Winter Classic in Ann Arbor on New Year's Day.

Forward Justin Abdelkader was back on the ice for the first since sustaining a concussion in Saturday's game against Pittsburgh when he took an illegal hit to the head from Deryk Engelland.  Engelland was given a match penalty, and was suspended for five games yesterday by the NHL. No timetable has been set for Abdelkader's return to the lineup.
