DETROIT, MI (WTVB) - The Red Wings got by the Calgary Flames 3-2 in overtime last night at Joe Louis Arena with the victory snapping Detroit’s six game winless streak while they also avoided a sixth straight loss at home. Daniel Alfredsson scored his second goal of the night 63 seconds into the extra period for the game winner. Alfredsson had a 3-point night, also assisting on a goal by Jaokim Andersson while Pavel Datsyuk added three assists for Detroit.
Jonas Gustavsson made 20 saves for the Red Wings, who play tomorrow night at Toronto.
In minor league hockey, in the ECHL, the Kalamazoo Wings skate at home tonight and tomorrow night against the Toledo Walleye.
