PASADENA, CALIFORNIA (WTVB) - The major bowl games are still a few days away but there’s major news for Michigan State as the Big Ten Champion Spartans continue preparations for their January 1st Rose Bowl game against Stanford. MSU coach Mark Dantonio released a statement last night announcing that Michigan State senior linebacker and 2-time captain Max Bullough has been suspended for a violation of team rules. Bullough, a two time first team All-Big Ten selection, did not travel with the team, which arrived yesterday in Pasadena. Dantonio said there would be no further comment on Bullough’s suspension.
Ford Field in Detroit will be in the spotlight this evening with the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl as Pittsburgh plays Mid-American Conference Champion Bowling Green with a six o’clock kickoff. The second item on the bowl menu for tonight features MAC runner-up number-23 Northern Illinois against Utah State in the Poinsettia Bowl. Michigan plays the day after tomorrow in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl with the Wolverines taking on Kansas State in Tempe, Arizona.
