DEARBORN (WKZO) -- January sales at Ford Motor Company jumped by 22-percent compared to last year.

The automaker says it was the best overall sales performance in January since 2006 with car sales leading the way.  The Ford Fusion and Escape posted record sales while truck sales jumped by eleven-percent for the month.

Ford officials say small car sales jumped by 29-percent led by the Fiesta, Focus and C-Max hybrid, making January the best month for small car sales in over a decade.
