LANSING, MI (WKZO) -- A coalition of unions, the American Civil Liberties Union, and a few Democratic Lawmakers have all filed a joint lawsuit, challenging passage of the Right to Work Law. They claim it’s actually an extension of the lawsuit filed on the day the law passed, challenging the decision to close the State Capitol. A judge ordered the doors be reopened.
The plaintiffs claim that since they were closed for several hours, it constitutes a violation of the open meetings act, and that means the vote on the Right to Work measure is invalid.
