13th-ranked Michigan State had to rally at home last night to take down Illinois 80-to-75. The Spartans trailed by ten points at halftime but outscored the Illini 53-to-38 in the second half to bounce back from a loss Sunday at number-3 Indiana.
Keith Appling scored a game-high 24 points for Michigan State along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Michigan State remains undefeated at home this season and improved to 18-4 overall and 7-and-2 in the Big Ten. The Spartans return to action next Wednesday at home against Minnesota.
