COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) -  Primary road conditions in Branch County are on the mend today as the lake effect snow bands have diminished compared to yesterday but the improvement wasn’t enough to prevent another day of school closings in Southwest Michigan, including several in the area like Union City and Tekonsha as well as the KCC Grahl Center in Coldwater and all of the Kellogg Community College campus sites.

Motorists around here escaped the kind of deadly multiple vehicle crashes that killed 3 people on I-75 in Detroit, as well as a 9 semi-12-car collision on I-94 in West Michigan near Paw Paw and a 30-car pileup on U.S. 23 south of Flint.
