LANSING (WKZO) -- Michigan’s Secretary of State says it’s the President who has changed policy, but she is actually the one reversing course. She will now begin to issue drivers licenses to the American raised children of undocumented aliens. The White House calls them the “dreamers”. They are teens and young adults who have no memories of their countries of birth, and dream of remaining in America.Secretary of State Ruth Johnson had refused to issue them licenses, triggering protests at her offices. This week the White House issued a clarification, stating that they consider them to be here legally, at least for the next two years.Johnson now says she has no choice but to issue them licenses. There are about 7,000 in President OBAMA's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in Michigan.
