The Red Wings three game home winning streak was snapped last night with Detroit losing 4-to-1 to Calgary at Joe Louis Arena. Johan Franzen scored on a power play in the second period to cut the Flames lead to 2-to-1 but Calgary added a goal in the final minute of the frame to go back up 3-to-1 and then put the Red Wings away with another goal with just over 4-minutes remaining in the game.
Jimmy Howard made 19 saves for Detroit with the defeat dropping their record to 4-4-and-1. Tomorrow night, the Red Wings skate at St. Louis.
Tonight in minor league hockey, in the ECHL, the Kalamazoo Wings host Evansville at Wings Stadium.
