Michigan woman responsible for thousands of fake foreclosure documents

COMSTOCK PARK, MI (WTVB) - Loraine Brown already faces sentencing in federal court for running a robo-signing operation in Georgia that pumped out tens of thousands of legitimate foreclosure documents that were fraudulently signed. Now she's being accused of approving fake foreclosure documents

Brown ran the company DocX, which handled processing for banks who didn’t have the manpower or the time to do it themselves.  A woman named Linda Green was supposed to be checking the facts, reviewing the documents and processing them.  Instead others were just hired to sign her name, some of them high schoolers.

Attorney General spokesperson Joy Yearout says there were at least 1,000 of the fraudulently signed documents in Michigan so they charged Brown with Racketeering.

As part of her plea an agreement, Brown will serve her Michigan time concurrently with her federal sentence.

She also faces a 136-count indictment in Missouri.

She faces federal sentencing next month and sentencing in Michigan in May.
