COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - Troopers from the Coldwater State Police Post have arrested seven Registered Sex Offenders. They were booked at the Branch County jail recently for failing to verify their addresses during the last quarterly reporting period. Sex Offenders are required to comply with the Registration Act and face being charged with a High Court Misdemeanor for failure to do so during the 15 day registration period.
Arrested and arraigned in District Court in Coldwater on charges of Failure to Verify were Christopher Allen Simons, Richard Thomas Crum, Carl Michael Scott-Parkin, Thomas Earl McDonald, Corey Joseph Goheen, John Charles Miller, and Joshua Michael Miller. The suspects will face future hearings and sentencing from on the charges. Sex Offenders who are convicted of failing to verify their address within the prescribed verification period face a punishment of not more than 2 years in prison or a fine of not more than $2,000.00, or both.
