The Pistons will head into the All-Star break on a positive note after their 96-to-85 victory last night over Washington at the Palace. Detroit’s recently acquired point guard Jose Calderon scored 24 points and Will Bynum added 20 to help bring an end to the Wizards season-high four game winning streak. The Pistons improved their record to 21-and-33. Detroit’s only representative for the All Star weekend in Houston will be Brandon Knight, who will be taking part in the Rising Stars game and the skills challenge.

Last night in the Mid-American Conference, Western Michigan lost on the road to Bowling Green 70-to-60. Despite the defeat, the Broncos remained tied for the MAC West Division lead because Toledo lost to Buffalo. Top-ranked Indiana pulled away in the second half to nail visiting Nebraska 76-to-47 to rejoin Michigan State atop the Big Ten standings. And second-ranked Duke rallied to beat North Carolina 73-to-68 at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
