St Louis Blues' Kariya celebrates after scoring against the Detroit Red Wings during their NHL season opening game at Globen Arena in Stockh

Red Wings 3-game winning streak ended last night when St. Louis scored 52 seconds into overtime to beat Detroit 4-to-3 at Joe Louis Arena.   Pavel Datsyuk tied the game for the Red Wings at three with seven minutes and 21 seconds left in the middle period. Jimmy Howard turned aside 21 shots for Detroit. The Red Wings played the game without forward Johan Franzen, who sat out with a hip flexor. Tomorrow night, Detroit hosts Anaheim.

Tonight at Wings Stadium in the ECHL, it’s the annual Valentine’s Pink Ice game with the Kalamazoo Wings hosting the Trenton Titans.
