The Red Wings went down to defeat to the Ducks 5-to-2 last night at Joe Louis Arena. Anaheim scored four unanswered goals to rally for their first win in Detroit since February 2008.
Joakim Andersson got his first career goal and added an assist for the Red Wings while Tomas Tatar also scored for Detroit. Jimmy Howard allowed four goals on 36 shots as the Red Wings drop to 7-5-and-2.
Tomorrow night, it’s Detroit at Minnesota.
In minor league hockey last night in the ECHL at Wings Stadium, Kalamazoo beat Toledo 3-to-2 in overtime. Tonight, the K-Wings play at Toledo. And in college hockey, Western Michigan scored a 2-to-1 shootout win at Ohio State, where the Broncos play again tonight. And at Michigan State, the Spartans lost to Northern Michigan 5-to-3 with M-S-U and the Wildcats playing again tonight at Munn Ice Arena. Michigan is idle this weekend.
