COLDWTER, MI (WTVB) - Rising and falling temperatures and the impact on roads mean that yearly weight restrictions on roads in Branch County may be enforced starting next week. That’s the latest word from Branch County Road Commission manager Trent Arver. The extended forecast indicates temperatures will be moderating to near 40 by Sunday and the lower 40’s for Monday.
Depending on where you’re at in the region, streets that were just recently paved or resurfaced are beginning to crater like moonscapes again because of the gyrating temperatures. Road managers will tell you that you can’t beat the laws of physics, at least not with their budgets.
