The Piston’s second half of the season after the All-Star break got off to a losing start last night as they were mauled by Memphis at the Palace 105-to-91. It really wasn’t even that close as Detroit scored just a total of 30 points in the second and third quarters and trailed 84-to-58 going into the final period.
Former Piston Austin Daye and Tayshaun Prince returned to the Palace for the first time since a three-team trade last month sent them to the Grizzlies and brought Jose Calderon to Detroit from the Raptors.
Prince started last night and finished with 4 points while Daye came off the bench and scored six. Brandon Knight and Jonas Jerebko had 13 points apiece for the Pistons in the loss which dropped Detroit’s record to 21-and-34. Tonight, the Pistons play at Charlotte
