Danica Patrick may have the fastest car at Daytona after becoming the first woman ever to win a Sprint Cup Pole on Saturday to earn the number one starting position for this Sunday’s Daytona 500. But the betting line has 12 other drivers with better odds to take the checkered flag this weekend in America’s Greatest Race. She’s listed at 20-to-1 while Dale Earnhardt, Jr. is the favorite at 9-to-1. Jeff Gordon, who will be alongside Patrick on the front row, will go off at 10-to-1.
Prior to winning the pole, Patrick was a longshot at 125-to-1. The rest of the 43-car field will be set following tomorrow's twin-qualifying races at Daytona. We’ll have live coverage of the qualifiers on the radio beginning at around two o’clock, following Ken Delaney's Walk Across Branch County emergency heating assistance fundraiser.
The broadcast of the Daytona 500 on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 begins at 12 Noon Sunday
