PORTAGE, MI (WKZO) -- Its official, Portage fisherman Joe Seeberger now holds a world record for the largest “muskie” ever caught.
The 58-pound fish was declared a Michigan record soon after Seeberger caught the monster muskie last October on Lake Bellaire. It’s taken the International Committee of the Modern Day Muskellunge World Record Program until now to declare it’s the biggest of its species to ever be caught on the planet, at least in the modern era. The National Freshwater Fishing hall of Fame recognizes a 68-pound Muskie caught in 1949 as the largest Muskie ever caught.
