COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - While Community Action organizations around Michigan will host Walk for Warmth fundraising events Saturday morning, WTVB's Ken Delaney got a jump on the fundraising with his annual Walk Across Branch County Thursday. The 17 mile walk from Bronson to Quincy raised close to $2,000 for the Branch County Emergency Heating Assistance Fund for Community Action. The entire trip was broadcast live on WTVB. Alex Sposito and Amanda Schmidt from the Community Action office in Battle Creek joined Ken for the final 4 mile stretch from the Coldwater McDonald's to the Quincy McDonald's Thursday afternoon.
Saturday's Walk for Warmth events will be held at the United Methodist Church on Marshall Street in Coldwater and at the United Congregational Church in Union City. Registration begins at 9 am, with opening ceremonies at 9:30 am and the one mile walk beginning at 10 am. Pledge forms are available for download at www.caascm.org
