VAN BUREN COUNTY (WKZO) -- Michigan State Police have called off the search for missing Van Buren County woman with advanced dementia.

80-year-old Joyce Johnston was found a few hours after she disappeared. She had checked into a motel near South Haven, and stopped at the Dollar Store on her way to the bus station. Johnston has a history of taking unauthorized and ill advised trips due to her dementia and was found last week in Chicago. A helicopter and canine units had been dispatched in the search for Johnston.
