Michigan moves up in this week’s rankings while Michigan State slips down a bit but both are still top ten teams. Voters in the Associated Press and Coaches polls each put Michigan at fourth in the nation compared to last week’s number seven ranking. The Wolverines have won 2 straight including Sunday’s home victory over Illinois. M-S-U has lost consecutive games for this first time season, falling last week to number one Indiana and #16 Ohio State. The Spartans descended from fourth to ninth in the AP poll this week and from fifth to tenth in the coach’s poll. Coming up Sunday, it’s Michigan State at Michigan. Top-ranked Indiana plays tonight at Minnesota.
