COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - Branch County is almost done with drought conditions and the snow helps, but the county remains where it’s been the last month or so in the abnormally dry, or D-1 category, according to this week’s U.S. drought monitor. 6 weeks ago, the drought monitor listed the county in the D-2 moderate category.
At its worst this past summer, for several weeks, the county had extreme, or D-3 drought conditions. Never did Branch County become so parched as to reach the worst measurement, D-4, or exceptional.
