A major BCS upset last night in New Orleans with a shocker in the Sugar Bowl. Louisville, a 2-touchdown underdog, surprisingly handled SEC powerhouse Florida 33-to-23 in a showdown at the Superdome more lopsided than the final score indicated.
The 22nd-ranked Cardinals forced 3 turnovers and held the fourth ranked Gators to just 285 yards total offense. Louisville needed a tiebreaker to gain the automatic BCS bowl bid from the underwhelming Big East Conference. Both teams finished with 11-and-2 records. Tonight, it’s a top five matchup in Phoenix for the Fiesta Bowl as number-4 Oregon collides with fifth-ranked Kansas State.
