LANSING (WKZO) -- State officials are blaming Human Error for a mistake in releasing funding into Bridge Card Accounts that assist the poor in buying food. Cards with numbers that end in Zero, that’s one card in every ten, failed to be replenished on schedule.

For hungry Michiganders who depend on that card and take pains to get to the grocery store when they know it will be possible to use the card, it can be disappointing and even frightening.

The Bridge Cards work like debit cards and replaced the old food stamp program some years ago.State crews at The Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget worked overnight to correct the problem and the cards should be funded sometime today.
