All five Michigan starters scored in double figures last night with Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr. leading the way as the second ranked Wolverines cruised to a 94-66 win at Northwestern to open up Big Ten conference play. Burke tallied a game-high 23 points with five assists and four steals, while Hardaway Jr. had 21 points and four assists as Michigan improved to 14-and-0, continuing their best start since the 1985-86 season. Northwestern slips to 9-and-5. The Wolverines are back in action Sunday afternoon at home against Iowa.
Also last night in the Big Ten, Wisconsin beat Penn State 60-to-51.
