KALAMAZOO, MI  (WKZO) --  It’s a pretty safe bet that no one will be taking a dip in Axtell creek in this weather, but Kalamazoo County Health officials are warning everyone to stay away from the water, and keep their curious pets away too after a major sewage spill into the creek near Maple Street. 

City crews are testing and trying to remediate the spill.  They say 3 to 4-thousand gallons of raw sewage gurgled out of a manhole after a sewer line got clogged Thursday afternoon.
