ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) - An armed robbery at a store in Angola and the bandit wasn’t gunning for a pot of gold although he had pot in mind, the synthetic variety, that is. Angola City Police say shortly after nine o’clock Friday night they were dispatched to check out a holdup at Little Hippie on North Wayne Street. Officers were told that a man walked into the business and displayed a semi-automatic silver colored hand gun and ordered that they fill a blue colored bag with “Spice” products. The clerks complied with the demands and then the thief fled, running south out of the building.
The suspect is described as six foot plus with a medium build. He was wearing blue jeans, a dark colored coat with a greenish hooded sweatshirt, face mask and sunglasses. A K-9 picked up a track to an area near the Harcourt bridge, where it appears a subject got into a vehicle and left westbound on Harcourt towards Wayne Street. City Police were assisted by Indiana State Police, the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana Conservation Officers. No injuries were reported. Anyone with information about the robbery should contact Angola City Police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-600-4258
