COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - No injuries last night in two separate hit and run suspected drunk driving crashes in the Coldwater area that occurred within minutes of each other. Michigan State Police were able to arrest the at fault drivers. The accidents happened around 8 p.m. Troopers were called to a location on the west side of Coldwater on U-S-12 and discovered that a vehicle leaving Midway Lanes struck another vehicle traveling west on 12 that was driven by 62-year old Michael Dirschell of Coldwater.
The other driver was picked up a short time later south of the city and she was booked on charges of OWI child endangerment, leaving the scene of a traffic crash and resisting troopers. Police were then alerted by dispatch to head north of Coldwater in the area of Union City Road near Jonesville Road for an unknown crash. Troopers found evidence of an accident and learned the vehicle fled north toward the Village of Union City. Village police located the suspect a short time later and he was taken to jail for alleged OWI and leaving the scene of an accident. Names of the two incarcerated drivers were withheld by State Police pending district court arraignments
