COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - There’s more evidence of how widespread flu like illnesses and influenza are in the area. Dr. Joe Daoud, the chief of staff at the Community Health Center of Branch County, told the CHC Board of Trustees last night that the hospital is full and doctor’s offices are swamped treating sick people. According to Daoud, the emergency room at the Health Center Monday morning had seven patients waiting for a room to open up for admission. Daoud said many people who have heart and lung problems are unable to take care of themselves and need to be hospitalized. Their best advice for most of the public is if they’re feeling under the weather, stay home, rest, take some Tylenol, and drink plenty of fluids, but if they feel very sick and dehydrated, head to the health center for further treatment.
At last night’s annual CHC Organizational meeting, the existing slate of officers was reappointed for 2013 with Roger Young, chairman; Mike Iveson, Vice Chairman; and Lindy Cox, Secretary-Treasurer.
