UNDATED (WKZO) --  We said that this might be the case yesterday.  Now it’s been confirmed that a 15-year-old boy from Genesee County has died from the flu.

Joshua Polehna passed away on Friday, becoming the fourth child in Michigan to die this season after contracting the virus.

There is a group called Families Fighting Flu, who works with families that have lost loved ones.

They also promote the idea of getting flu shots, raise funds to actually provide vaccinations to those who can’t afford them, and provide counseling and services to families whose children suffer serious complications or even die because of the virus. 

The non-profit group also includes healthcare practitioners who are committed to fighting the flu.
