LANSING (WKZO) -- Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette is resuming his push to unseat seven members of the Detroit Board of Education.

The AG is hoping to persuade a judge to order their removal.  Schuette sued the board in August, accusing them of illegally holding office because they were elected by district, not at-large as state law required.

A Wayne County judge dismissed the suit, citing concerns over the impact of legislation that was being debated, at the time, to replace Michigan's emergency manager law.  Schuette says that since the law was repealed by voters in November, it no longer affects the case and he wants the board members removed.
