COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) _ the first regular meeting of 2013 for the Coldwater City council is tonight and the agenda includes a proposed wastewater service rate hike for Board of Public Utility customers. The suggested increase of five percent a month would cost the average residential customer around 26-dollars more a year for sewer service. The increase would help address B-P-U cash flow needs and reserve requirements. And City Manager Jeff Budd says contrary to any rumors circulating the community including social media circles that the council will be discussing the future of the Heritage Park swimming pool and designs to shut it down for this summer and beyond, the Heritage Park pool is not on the agenda this evening for the City Council.
And there’s a special meeting called for tonight by the Coldwater Board of Education. The main purpose of the session is to approve new contracts to allow for the renovation this summer of the seventh grade wing at Legg Middle School. The school board meeting begins at 6 p.m. while the council meeting starts at the usual time of 5:30.
