About two thousand Red Wing’s fans turned out Sunday in Plymouth at Compuware Arena for the start of Detroit’s training camp. The 113-day lockout means a 48-game season to be played in 99 days. The schedule starts Saturday night against the Blues in St. Louis. The home opener is a week from tomorrow against Minnesota at Joe Louis Arena. The Red Wings tomorrow will make it official that Henrick Zetterberg will be their next captain, taking over for Nicklas Lidstrom, who retired in May. Yesterday in minor league hockey, in the ECHL, the Kalamazoo Wings scored a 4-to-3 shootout victory at Gwinnett.
