BRONSON, MI (WTVB) - In Branch County high school sports, there was a limited schedule of events Monday with only one varsity game, a non-conference contest in girl’s basketball and Bronson was a winner at home over Napoleon 48-to-35. It was the fourth straight victory for the Lady Vikings with Skyler Sobeski leading the way with 22 points. Mallorie Bassage had a team-high 9 rebounds along with six points. Bronson pulled out to a 9-to-2 lead at the end of the first quarter and went ahead 21-to-9 at the break on the way to the 13-point victory.
The Lady Vikings improved to 8-and-4 and take the next week off before returning to action next Tuesday at Prairie Heights. In last night’s j-v game, Napoleon beat Bronson 35-to-25 with 6 points for Alexa Ratkowski along with 5 points and 11 rebounds for Kirin Cekander.
And yesterday in freshman boy’s and girl’s basketball, it was a split for Coldwater at Pennfield. The visiting Cardinals won the boy’s game 55-to-27 with 16 points and 15 rebounds for Brendan Spangler.
In the Coldwater girl’s loss, Megan Hoath had 9 points for the Lady Cardinals. Tonight’s high school schedule includes a Branch County matchup in girl’s basketball and we’ll have it for you on the radio as Coldwater plays at home against Union City. The j-v game tips off at six o’clock with the varsity set to follow at 7:30.

Tonight in boy’s basketball, in Big 8 Conference play, it’s Quincy at home against Concord while Union City is at Reading. It’s a night off for Coldwater with the Cardinal’s boy’s team returning to action Friday at Sturgis.
And tonight in gymnastics, Coldwater has a conference meet at home against Saline.
