COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - It’s perfect timing for the Branch Area Careers Center in Coldwater to hold its annual open house tomorrow and show off its vocational technical training programs. Governor Snyder this week called for an increased emphasis on vocational training and education in Michigan and the Careers Center continues to lead the way, celebrating 40 years of excellence in the field.
State House Speaker Jase Bolger of Marshall said Friday there is no better worker in the world than Michigan’s workers and they’re going to continue to build our country. Bolger stressed that we just need to be sure that our students are prepared to fill those careers in high-tech manufacturing and skilled trades. The 15 training programs at the BACC serve the largest percent of juniors and seniors in the state. Tomorrow’s open house at the Careers Center, which stands by its motto as the key to technology, runs from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. with door prizes and refreshments and will conclude with the Skills USA Awards.
