has moved back up in the polls after number one Louisville was knocked off Saturday by Syracuse. The 17-and-1 Wolverines jumped from fifth to second in the AP Top-25 and to third place in the USA Today Coaches Poll. Duke has reclaimed the number-one ranking, although Michigan did get 11 votes for the top spot in the AP poll.
The Wolverine’s next game is Thursday at home against Purdue. Tonight’s schedule includes Michigan State at Wisconsin. The visiting Spartans are shooting for a sixth straight win after sneaking past Ohio State 59-to-56 on Saturday at Columbus. M-S-U is 13th this week in the AP rankings and 11th in the coaches poll. 13-and-5 Wisconsin is unranked. Last night’s action included number-3 Syracuse escaping with a 57-to-55 home win over #21 Cincinnati. Also, Detroit Mercy lost to visiting Wright State 64-to-62
