VAN BUREN COUNTY, MI- (WKZO) -- A suspect has been arrested after fleeing from officers and struggling with a Police K-9 and his handler.
A 33-year-old Hartford man known to have a suspended license and who eluded police during a high speed chase 3 weeks ago was spotted driving a Jeep Wrangler Sunday just after 3 p.m.
A Van Buren County Sheriff's Deputy tried to pull him over, but he sped away, eventually sliding through a T-intersection and crashing through a cattle gate before running on foot into a wooded area, carrying a working meth lab like a football.
A K9 unit tracked him to a grove of trees. The suspect reportedly fought with the Deputy and the K9 before being taken into custody. They believe he was under the influence of narcotics. Deputies located the meth lab in the weeds, where he had abandoned it. He is being held in the Van Buren County Jail, and could face multiple felonies.
