DETROIT (WKZO) -- General Motors has asked to open labor negotiations early with a Canadian Auto Workers Local in the hope of forging a deal at an Ontario plant where GM might want to produce the next-generation Chevrolet Equinox.
The current deal at the plant in Ingersoll, which produces the Equinox and GMC Terrain, is set to expire in September. The bargaining committee for the CAW Local 88 has recommended that the members approve the early bargaining.
Membership will vote on the matter on February 10th.
