GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WTVB)  - The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s National Chamber Foundation will host “Hiring Our Heroes – Grand Rapids,” a hiring fair for veterans and military spouses. This fair is one of three nationwide on January 24^th that will enable Hiring Our Heroes to reach its 400^th hiring fair milestone since the program began in March 2011. More than 45 employers are expected to participate with jobs available for veterans and military spouses of all ranks and levels of experience. Companies range from America's biggest employers to small companies from across the region. The event will also include a free GE employment workshop that features one-on-one mentoring sessions on resume building, resume writing, and interviewing techniques for all job-seeking veterans and service member participants.

Since its launch, Hiring Our Heroes has held over 380 hiring fairs nationwide, helping more than 14,000 veterans and military spouses find employment. This event is also part of Hiring 500,000 Heroes, a national campaign announced by the U.S. Chamber, National Chamber Foundation, and Capital One, to engage the business community in committing to hire 500,000 veterans and military spouses by the end of 2014.
