BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) - The January 2013 cold snap has now seen 4 straight days of single digit temperatures in Branch County. It started on Monday the 21st when the morning after the high temperature was 41 it dropped to seven degrees. The next day it plunged to one-below zero and Wednesday, six degrees above was the low. And this morning, the official low temperature in Coldwater was four degrees.
There’s a chance Friday could make it five straight days of single digit readings with a predicted low of 10, but the odds are against it since it’s expected to be cloudy with a good bet for snow showers.
Does the frigid weather bring with it a slowdown in crime? Hard to tell for sure, but it should be noted that yesterday, there were no arrests in Branch County or at least, no one booked into the County Jail.
