COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - The restoration of the front of the theatre to its original 1882 look and a summer theatre season that featured the highest grossing show of all time highlighted the celebration during the Tibbits Opera Foundation Annual Meeting last night. The 2011-2012 fiscal year for the theatre ended September 30th. Operations for the year ended break even. Summer theatre revenue was up, with the musical “Chicago” becoming the highest grossing show in the 49 years of summer stock. Most of the work was completed last year in the restoration of the façade of the opera house, with almost 250-thousand dollars in additional money for the restoration raised.
Brian Hodson will return as Tibbits board President, with J.Richard Colbeck as Vice President. New board members elected last night were Lonnie Evon and Mindy Fuchs, with Laura Lutterbeck, Jim Maynard, and Polly Locke returned to the board.
