The Red Wings came close last night but couldn’t cool off the red hot Blackhawks who scored a 2-to-1 overtime victory at the United Center with the win giving Chicago the best start in franchise history at 6-and-0. Johan Franzen scored the lone goal for the Red Wings, who dropped to 2-2-and-1. The Blackhawks killed all six of Detroit’s power plays with the Red Wings just 2-for-26 with the man advantage so far this season. Tomorrow night, it’s Detroit vs. Dallas at Joe Louis Arena.
Yesterday the ECHL at Wings Stadium, Bakersfield beat Kalamazoo 3-to-2 in overtime.
