The Lions have hired former Denver Broncos general manager Brian Xanders as a senior personnel executive to assist Detroit general manager Martin Mayhew. Xanders, who was the Broncos’ G-M from 2009 until he was fired last spring, will scout and grade draft prospects for the Lions.

Today in New Orleans, it’s media day at the Superdome as thousands of reporters from around the world interview members of the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49’ers in advance of Sunday’s Super Bowl 47.
