Union City vs. Centreville basketball game postponed, Coldwater boys and girls face Battle Creek Central tonight

CENTREVILLE, MI (WTVB) - In Branch County high school sports, yesterday’s limited schedule was subject to cancellations following the no class day because of the icy roads Monday morning. That included last night’s Union City at Centreville girls basketball game being called off. Meanwhile, the Tekonsha girls team played last night and lost at Climax Scotts 64-to-18.

On tonight’s high school schedule, in boys and girls basketball, it’s Coldwater vs. Battle Creek Central. Coldwater will host the boys games and we’ll have the boys varsity action on the radio and stream the audio on-line at wtvbam.com. Our live coverage on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 starts at seven o’clock. The freshman tip things off at 4:15, followed by the j-v contest scheduled for 5:45 and then the varsity game set for 7:15. The start times are the same for the Coldwater girls in their games at Battle Creek Central. Also tonight, in boy’s action only, it’s Quincy at Jonesville, Union City hosts Springport, and Tekonsha is at home against Climax-Scotts.

Today on the Coaches Corner, it’s Quincy girls basketball coach Dana Clark.

In middle school sports yesterday, in girl’s basketball,  the Coldwater seventh grade”A” team was a winner at Sturgis 24-to-9 with ten points for Isabella Foley. Sturgis beat Coldwater in the seventh grade “B” game 46-to-5.
