GIRARD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) - One person suffered burn injuries in a house fire Tuesday afternoon North of Coldwater. The alarm from 825 Doves Landing in Girard Township came in at 1:45 p.m. and Coldwater firemen found the residence fully engulfed in flames. While en route to fight the blaze, there were reports of several explosions taking place at the home and upon arrival, they discovered two additional homes were on fire as well.
The fire department said the occupant at 825 Doves Landing received burns to his hands, arms and upper body and was treated at the scene but didn’t go to the hospital. The structure to the north of where the original incident was reported sustained fire damage to the attic and exterior walls but the majority of the contents were saved. The residence to the south of 825 Doves Landing had siding damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time. The Union City Fire Department assisted with tankers. Coldwater firemen were on scene for nearly six hours.
