TEKONSHA, MI (WTVB) - At last word, authorities were still on the lookout for a robbery suspect after an older white male entered the Southern Michigan Bank & Trust branch in Tekonsha Friday afternoon. The bandit made off with an unknown quantity of money, and rode southbound out of the village on a red and black bicycle with saddle bags. The suspect stands between 5’10” and 6’2 and was wearing black slacks, a dark-colored hoodie, baseball cap, and a dark bandana. He was probably stained with a reddish color thanks to a dye pack that exploded while taking off with the money. Anyone with additional information is asked to call the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office at 269-781-0911.
Another Tekonsha man didn’t need to rob a bank to get rich. All Donald Watkins had to do was buy a Michigan Lottery Cashword Instant Lottery ticket and scratch it off to find out that he was a $100,000 winner. The State Lottery Bureau says Watkins claimed his winnings on June 27th from the lucky ticket that he bought at Brotts Grocery on M-60 in Union City.
